My friend from Germany, Katja, was in Chiang Mai, too. Together with Maria and Alex, we took a local bus to Chiang Dao. The “Shambhala In Your Heart Festival” was somewhere near a village in the mountains; the area was just beautiful! The festival was a small and cute event, on a few hundred people attended. It had good vegan food, good coffee, friendly people. No, I didn’t buy the elephant pants, fortunately they were not mandatory.
People there seemed to be having a lot of fun. I’m not sure if they were high on something or just high on life? They were just happy, though. At the sun set, more and more people started dancing. The live music was great, too!
